Solving Interesting Problems | Project Engineer at Atelier One
We’re a studio of 20 based in Farringdon. Across our 30-year history, our curiosity and passion for finding elegant solutions to complex problems has contributed to an array of widely recognised unique structures.
At Atelier One, our work usually sits at the intersection of architecture, art, and performance. One day that might mean figuring out the mechanics of a touring stage set; the next, it’s a low-carbon timber structure or a complex sculpture. We don't have a "standard" project, and we like it that way.
The Role: We’re looking for a Project Engineer (3–5 years experience) to join our team.
What we do together:
· Design Focus: We work across all materials, including timber and bamboo, finding the most appropriate materials for each brief. For us, that means prioritising sustainability and carbon reduction as a core part of the engineering, not an afterthought.
· The Process: You’ll define structural principles, develop design ideas, and handle the calculations.
· Office Life: We’re a small group. We value people who enjoy contributing to the day-to-day life of the studio.
About You: You have a solid technical foundation, but you’re likely looking for a place where the work is a bit more varied. You care about the climate, you enjoy a good design challenge, and you like to work in collaboration with others.
