Spaceframe

Design and engineering of an industry-changing, elegant, deployable, stackable and lightweight carbon fibre reinforced plastics (CFRP) framing system for support of large-scale LED screens. The revolutionary use of CFRP reduced structure weight by 35% and truck pack by 40% thus significantly cutting down the transportation carbon footprint. Due to its extremely efficient lightweight construction, the Spaceframe can safely be handled manually, hence drastically reducing assembly and de-assembly times.

The unique design allows customization to fit the needs of an individual tour; it can be hung vertically, installed horizontally forming a ceiling, and create both flat or convex and concave surfaces; it can be used outdoors when fully deployed, but can also be folded down and installed indoors when spatial constraints pose a challenge. Since its development for 2017 U2 Joshua Tree Tour, the Spaceframe has been successfully used for numerous tours and events, including 2018 Beyonce & JayZ OTR II Tour. The Spaceframe has gained Atelier One the IStructE 2018 Award for Construction Innovation.

A moving version of the screen was also toured by Beyonce and Jay-Z for the On the Run II Tour.
